ARLINGTON HIGH STUDENT DEMOGRAPHIC DATA

We have heard that citizens are STILL being told that the capacity of Arlington High School is 2,000 students.

This is FALSE.

Of note is that ever since Lakleand built a middle school, enrollment at Arlington has decreased, while the number of Lakeland students rose slightly.

In the agreement with Arlington, Lakeland kids are also served first, meaning that currently there are 589 seats currently available for students.

Considering only 661 total Lakeland students currently go to AHS it would take considerable growth for that school to reach capacity anytime in the near future.

Notes:
2012-2013 – Legacy Shelby County Schools (Pre-Merger)
2013-2014 – Merged Shelby County Schools
2014-2015 – Arlington Community Schools Formed
